Principal: John Jackson
John Jackson married Renee in 2001 and they are the proud parents of their son, Bauer and their daughter, Reese. John served for five years in youth ministry and completed his English degree at California State Teaching Credential at Cal State East Bay. He then earned his Master’s Degree in education from Cal State East Bay. John taught second grade for seven years and served as the Vice-Principal of CTCS for four years. In his free time, John relaxes with his family, goes to the gym and watches plenty of football!

Kindergarten: Julie Sanchez
Julie Sanchez married her husband, Patrick in 1986. They have three daughters: Gabrielle, Arianna and Alassaundra. They also have three "doggie daughters:" Maddie, Eloise & Danke. Julie attended Illinois Central College and also took courses at Eastern Washington University. The Sanchez family moved from Illinois to California in 2003 to accept the Music Pastor position at Calvary Temple Church. Julie was privileged to teach music at CTCS for two years prior to accepting the position of Kindergarten teacher. In her spare time, Julie is blessed to enjoy the laughter and comedy her family calls “home.” She also assists Patrick in music ministry, enjoys the adventure of the Bay Area, watches old musicals and listens to loads of jazz!

First Grade: Leslie Stilwell
Leslie married Jim Stilwell in 1991 and they have two boys, Zach and Spencer. Zach graduated from CTCS and Spencer is a present student here. Leslie attended Biola University in Southern California and graduated from Chapman University in Concord. She also holds a teaching credential with the Association of Christian Schools International. She has coached girls basketball at three different schools, including CTCS. Before joining our fulltime teaching staff in 2004, Leslie served at CTCS as a teacher’s aide and P.E. teacher. In her free time, she enjoys cheering on UCLA and the Sacramento Kings!

Second Grade: Linda Sadler
Linda Sadler is married to Ron and they have three children: Amanda, Jordyn, and Travis. She began teaching at CTCS in 1973, its first year of inception. Linda continued teaching first grade here for many years. She went on to teach third grade for two years at the Christian school where her own children attended high school before returning to CTCS. She holds a Lifetime Teaching Credential with the state of California and is excited about preparing students for their academic future. Linda’s heart is in the area of Language Arts and she looks forward to helping students grow in this area.

Third Grade: Vawn Fishbaugh
Vawn Fishbaugh grew up in the Bay Area and attended Alhambra High School. She received her Bachelor of arts degree from Cal State Hayward and she holds a teaching credential from the Association of Christian Schools International. Vawn worked for many years as an interpreter / tutor for the deaf in the Mt Diablo Unified School District. She has taught at CTCS since 2000, both in elementary and jr. high school. She is married to Steve and they have 6 kids. The youngest, Joey, attends CTCS. Vawn loves music, drama, reading, sign language, and other people- especially kids!

Fourth Grade: Ken Wedge
Ken entered the Kansas Army National Guard right after graduating from Chapman High School. He served for many years in several positions, including Assistant Professor of Military Science at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. After retiring from the Army, he and his wife, Corky, served in the Peace Corps in Suriname, South America. They have four grandchildren. Ken obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University and his teaching credential from the Association of Christian Schools International. He has been teaching fourth grade at CTCS since August of 2001. Currently, Ken is a Deacon Candidate in the diocese of Oakland and will be ordained in December 2008.

Fifth Grade: Kim Pruett
Kim received her BS in English and Elementary Education with a Math and Science minor at the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois. She then continued to receive educational credits from Western Michigan University, Diablo Valley College, and Cal State Hayward. Before teaching fulltime, Kim was a substitute and pre-school teacher for 8 years. She also worked as a reading and resource specialist for 9 years. Kim is married to Doug and in her free time she enjoys reading, working on her professional growth, attending Precept Bible studies and watching NASCAR.

Sixth Grade: Shelli Viarreal
Shelli Viarreal received her BA in Art from UC Santa Barbara. She then went on to receive her Master's in Education from the University of Phoenix, along with her California State Teaching Credential. Shelli began teaching in 2004 and her teaching experience has been mainly with junior high students. She has a young daughter that she loves spending her time with. Also in her free time, she enjoys reading, singing, and dance – basically anything to allow artistic expression. The greatest joy that Shelli has is when she is helping children realize their full potential.

Seventh Grade and Assistant Administrator :
Jaime Friesen
Jaime married Jeremiah Friesen in 2002 and they have twins, Caleb and Mackenzie, who attend pre-school at CTCS. After high school, Jaime worked as an intern at Calvary Temple. She earned her AA degree from Diablo Valley College, BA from Bethany College in Santa Cruz and a teaching credential from the Association of Christian Schools International. Jaime is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God who has been teaching at CTCS since 2005. She will obtain her Master’s Degree in Education from Walden University in late 2008. In her free time, she enjoys tutoring students, walking to the park, and spending quality time with her family- all while drinking Starbucks!

Eighth Grade and Vice Principal: Natalie Charrette
Natalie is married to Chris Charrette and has two wonderful children, Tyler and Michaela, who have both attended CTCS since preschool. Natalie previously worked 17 years for a National Music Publication called Gavin, where she worked in various departments assisting in planning national music conventions around the country. She received her BA in Mass Communications at San Francisco State University in 1986. Natalie has been teaching at CTCS since 2001 and in 2005, she graduated from Chapman University with her Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction.
